首尔PLATEAU三星美术馆推出刘韡个展“全景”（Panorama），这也是三星美术馆自1999年开馆以来的最后一个项目。此次展览全面回顾刘韡近20年的艺术创作生涯，展出了多件具有建筑感的大型装置作品，同时还涵盖了其绘画、雕塑新作及早期具有争议的摄影和录像作品。
全景，象征着包罗万象和完整的景观，暗示着一个关于人类不可能的欲望即同时视觉控制和体验一切的矛盾。本次展览进一步强调了艺术家独特的视角通过截然不同的个人立场探讨了城市化的全球性问题。
韩国三星美术馆PLATEAU馆前身为“罗丹画廊”，因其永久馆藏罗丹的《地狱之门》而闻名，是三星文化基金会运营的三大美术馆之一，也是韩国当代艺术领域最为重要的艺术机构之一。2011年5月，为了恪守“拥抱韩国本土及全球当代艺术”的信念，罗丹美术馆正式更名为 “PLATEAU”。为了让人们在自然光下欣赏罗丹的作品，PLATEAU三星美术馆使用玻璃作为装修材料，设计结构也确保了能够呈现作品的最佳欣赏角度。
As the final exhibition of the museum program, PLATEAU, Samsung Museum of Art is pleased to present a solo exhibition of the acclaimed Chinese artist, Liu Wei.
Influenced by the political turmoil following the economic reforms, the “Tiananmen generation” of Chinese artists became internationally recognized for their works highlighting a distinct national character, which was often defined from the outside. In contrast, the new generation of artists including Liu Wei, marks a clear transition by merging the specific experience of the Chinese society with the broader narrative of the contemporary society at large.
Entitled Panorama, this exhibition presents a comprehensive overview of Liu Wei’s oeuvre, which addresses the complex social conditions of contemporary China. Liu’s broad spectrum of works, from painting, photography, video to architectural installation, simultaneously examines the global issues of urbanization through the artist’s unique perspective. Presenting one of the leading figures in the next generation of Chinese art, this exhibition proposes an open perspective for the future which Samsung Museum continues to strive.
