澳门艺术博物馆(MAM)成立于1999年,展示面积共五层,逾4000平方米,是澳门规模最大的文物艺术类博物馆。
馆内设有图书馆,提供文物及艺术类书籍、杂志供公众免费阅读。2008年11月开设的A2艺术工作室,面积逾700平方米,内设版画室、绘画室、综合室及视听室,主要进行艺术创作、技巧训练、美术理论等视觉艺术教学。
MAM设有常设展,除长期馆藏展外,也定期与中国内地文博机构包括故宫博物院、上海博物馆、南京博物院、浙江省博物馆等合办展览,与其他国家或地区合作举办各类型的交流展览,如法国、意大利、美国、墨西哥、巴西、韩国等,以此让公众多方面接触各地区不同时代的艺术与文化。
MAM以 “携手创造,艺术共享” 的目标、贯彻 “让生活恋上艺术” 的主张,透过举办各类型艺术展览活动、与本地艺术家及团体加强合作及建构文创平台,持续推动澳门艺术发展,并致力成为一间 “服务型博物馆”。
The Macao Museum of Art (MAM), was established in 1999. The exhibition areas are 4,000 square metres five-storiey building. It is the largest and only museum that is fully dedicated to arts in Macao.
The library at the Museum provides books and magazines on cultural relics and arts for the public to read. Opened in 2008, the 700-square-metre Art Square encompasses a printmaking room, a studio, a multi-functional room and an audio-visual room, mainly for teaching of art creation, training, and art theory.
Besides offering permanent exhibitions to show its long-term collections, the MAM holds exhibitions of many different types exchanged with museums and organisations from China and other regions and countries frequently: The MAM has cooperated with Palace Museum, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Museum, Zhejiang Museum and more, and has exhibited works from France, Italy, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Korea and etc. In this way, it allows the public to enjoy the art works and cultures from different places and times.
To pursue the objective ‘Art, to create and to share’ and the motto ‘Life.Love.Art’, the MAM organises various exhibitions and art-minded activities, while enhancing collaboration with local artists and arts groups to build cultural and creative platforms, in a bid to promote the development of art in Macao and to become a service-oriented museum.
